This cream has lasted my husband and I about 4 years now. The cream is so thick that you need such a small amount and then you need to warm it up by rubbing it together in your hands in order to apply. Sometimes this can be a hassle as your hands will need a good washing in order to get the cream off, but it works well and will hold the hairstyle all day.
Does everything you'd expect it to. Easy to use, kept my hair relatively in check throughout the day, wasn't too shiny, and it washed off my hands pretty easily afterwards.
Great product! I've tried Aveda pomade as well, but continue to use American Crew. It lasts all day and doesn't leave a greasy residue in my hair or my pillow when going to sleep.
I went many years without using hair product because I couldn't find anything that satisfied my "goldilocks" zone: decent hold without making hair hard, producing flakes, or being too expensive. American Crew Forming Cream is just right. It's easy to apply after showering, lasts all day, and comes out with little effort. Even better, it doesn't leave residue on my pillow, and, frankly, is a few steps short of black magic.
Has a medium hold without giving your hair too much shine. It's comparable to a grooming cream and can be used for blow drying as well as styling, defining shape/curls/waves, versatile for all hair types. Doesn't leave buildup. The "shine" is more of a really great healthy hair look so it doesn't appear glossy.
