I have tried different shampoos and conditioner for my roots because my hair is fo fine and brittle. Most I try have left residue so when I used the Matrix it was the first thing I noticed was a lack of residue. It was like a high quality shampoo that lathered and rinsed out so well. It has a mild, pleasant scent and does so much for the moisture of my scalp, I love it. I am so happy I tried this brand. It leaves my hair and scalp the way I expect it to for a root wash.
My hair has never had much volume, but after having a baby six months ago and dealing with the subsequent postpartum hair loss, my hair was looking flat. It probably didn't help that it was always in a bun. I started using this stuff and I could tell a difference right away - it makes my hair look much fuller.
My hair is pretty fine and has a natural wave. When I first used Matrix High Amplify Root Up Wash, I immediately felt a squeaky clean feeling in my hair. It is a very clarifying cleanser. It left my hair with a very lightweight, clean feeling. I wasn't aware of just how great it was, until my husband mentioned that my hair felt really soft. I don't think he's ever said that in our 14 years of marriage! I definitely recommend this for hair types similar to mine.
I had some product build up in my hair and I have to say it did a great job at removing it. My hair was really flat, and once I showered with this my hair got some life back into it. It also smells really good, and is easy to use.
